Get to know me
Hi, my name is Samantha (yes, you can call me Sam)! I have been practicing as a psychotherapist for 5 years and completed my EMDR training 2 years ago.
Because my background and education is social work, I think it is key that we consider existing structures when treating mental health. Additionally, healing is largely relational. It is of utmost importance to me to create a safe space for my clients to build the trusting therapist-client relationship that is critical to growth and healing. I want you to know there is no judgement, no stupid questions, nothing you cannot bring up when you are in session with me.
I love doing this work because as a therapist, I have the opportunity to make a positive impact on my clients' lives by helping them to overcome challenges, heal from emotional pain, and achieve their goals. Seeing clients make progress and reach their full potential is incredibly rewarding.
As I work with clients I learn and grow myself, gaining insight and new perspectives that help me to become a more effective practitioner as well as a wiser human in general. This ongoing process of learning and development is both challenging and deeply fulfilling.
I am eternally grateful for all of my former and future clients who have decided to work with me! Doing healing work with you is an honor and a privilege. Thank you for taking some time to learn about me!
I have known Samantha Mero, LCSW for over five years. We attended EMDR training together and have participated in consultation groups together for over two years. Since I’ve known her, Samantha has demonstrated a steadfast commitment to learning new skills and modalities to better help her clients. She took an early interest in EMDR and has dedicated herself to improving her mastery of different protocols. Her therapeutic approach is staunchly client-centered, and her incorporating EMDR into her practice fits nicely with her existing somatic style.
